Ram is a consultant paediatric surgeon, professor of healthcare simulation at Monash University and the Director of Monash Children's Simulation. He has used a variety of different simulation and virtual techniques in LMICs to improve surgical education in Myanmar, Bhutan and the Pacific Islands over the last 9 years. He has won various awards for this and has also worked as a consultant in surgical education at the WHO.
