Professional Bio
Kate is a General and Trauma Surgeon. She is the Deputy Director of Trauma at the Royal Melbourne and Deputy Director of GATES at the Austin Hospital. Kate is also a Clinical Senior Lecturer with the Department of Surgery at the University of Melbourne. She is a director with the EMST (ATLS) and DSTC faculties and is a member of the RACS Academy of Surgical Educators, with an active interest in surgical and trauma education. As part of the GSA-ANZAST Trauma Training Committee, Kate has been involved in establishing the PFET Program in Trauma, a program for Fellows of RACS. Kate is also the President of ANZAST (the Australian and New Zealand Association for the Surgery of Trauma). Since starting at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in March 2020, Kate has been involved in the teaching and supervision of the general surgical junior staff and is a founding member of the Surgical Education and Training Group (SEG). Kate is also the Supervisor of Intern Training at RMH.
